    Today's Recap, 1/10

    Today in Class:
    • Battle Field 1 and our new unit 
    • WWI Flocabulary (No Exit Ticket)
    • WWI Project Journal Entry #1: Explain this quote: “If a man kills another he is a murderer.  But if a man kills a million men, he is a conqueror.” Do you agree or disagree?  Why?
      • On a blank piece of lined paper, keep a log of our journals. 5-9 sentences. Make sure to write the prompt and put the date in the left hand margin.
      • To earn maximum points your entry must: 
        • Clearly answer the  prompt
        • Be thorough (at least 5-9 sentences)
        • Be persuasive, explained completely
        • Be well-ordered and organized
    • Assign countries/groups and choose roles
      • Record your team's roles in the Google Classroom document
    • Create mini flags (Each country needs 6 flags, about 1.5 inches x 1 inch)

    • Lecture Notes: MAIN Causes of WWI Power Point

      Today's Recap, 10/3

      Today in Class:
      • Stamp 3.3 Cornell Notes
      • Submit comic strip storyboard to Google Classroom (see assignment)
      • Use http://www.bibme.org/ for storyboard citations in MLA format and to create a "works cited" page
      • Comic Strips must be submitted as a hard copy (an actual paper with your cartoon on it) AND as a digital copy.  
      • To make a digital copy:
        • Scan your artwork at home or using a scanner in the library
        • Take a HIGH QUALITY photo of your artwork using your cell phone
          • Image should be cropped to remove distracting elements and show only the artwork
          • Image should not have any shadows across the artwork from the camera or photographer
          • Image should be well-lit and not have glare, shadows, uneven lighting, or other signs of poor image quality
      • Week 8 At a Glance
      • Homework: Continue working on your comic strip and finish submitting storyboard if not finished in class

      Today was a BUSY day!  It's back to school night tonight, so I'm looking forward to possibly meeting  some of your parents this evening.  We are now half way through our fourth week of school, and the year is already going by fast!

      Today in Class:
      • D.O.G.G. 13 & 14 (All classes have now turned in all 14 entries)
      • Turn in Absolute Monarch Comic
      • Distribute small slips for Ch 1 Test (Test corrections are 9/8 and 9/9 in Room 403 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.) Please respond to the form in Google Classroom to let me know if you are planning to attend. **REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TEXTBOOK TO TEST CORRECTIONS!!!**
      • Lecture Notes: Downfall of Spain (link coming soon)
      • Intro Mock Trial Project (See post in Google Classroom)

      It was good to see all those Chromebooks in class today!  Make sure to keep them charged at night so they will last the entire class period!  You should plan to bring your Chromebook with you to school everyday.  If you have questions about appropriate use, bring your questions with you to the Vice Principal's behavior meeting next Tuesday, 8/30.  They will be able to answer your specific questions at that time.
