Today: Rachel's Challenge: (Assembly Schedule) Rachel Joy Scott was the first person killed in the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999. But that was only the beginning of the story. After her death, many students that Rachel reached out to shared stories with the Scotts about the profound impact her simple acts of kindness had on their lives; even preventing one young man for taking his own life. They soon realized the transformational effect of Rachel’s story and started the non-profit organization that is Rachel's Challenge today. Toni's Toy Drive:  In memory of Toni Gutierrez, former staff member at Valhalla, we will be continuing our annual toy drive in her honor with Toni's Toys, starting on Wednesday, November 16th through Friday, December 9th. Students can stop by the Guidance Center (starting on Wednesday, November 16th) to pick a tag off the holiday tree which will have the age and gender of a child to purchase a toy for. Then bring in the new unwrapped toy and place it under the tree. Students can keep the tag as a reminder of what they did and place it somewhere special at home. Toys will be donated to multiple community agencies throughout El Cajon.

Valhalla Theatre Arts Department Presents Julius Caesar: Julius Caesar - William Shakespeare's Classic play, with a modern twist. At such a contentious time in America, Julius Caesar couldn't be more relevant. Examining the the use of the mob to acquire power and sway public opinion, Julius Caesar takes the audience on a ride that, at times, looks all too familiar. Shakespeare, being a master of bringing true humanity to the stage, allows us a glimpse into the minds of some of the most famous historical characters that ever lived.
