Welcome to Valhalla High School Humanities I- Global Studies. This class is a study of world history and geography and is commonly referred to as Hum I History. In this course we will focus on five elements: early world history; geography; rhetorical reading and writing; study skills; and digital citizenship. While the content of this course focuses mainly on world history and geography, the focus for instruction is helping students develop the skills they need to be academically successful.
Freshman year is the starting point for a student’s academic journey at Valhalla. Therefore, we expect students to consistently demonstrate their understanding and utilization of the academic skills we teach, so that they can bring these skills with them to tenth grade and beyond.
