Global Studies: Fri. 2/9/2018

Spring Semester Calendar
Today in class:
  • Watch CNN 10- 2/9/2018 (No notes, just watch)
  • Review the documents in the Fall of Rome DBQ and the Byzantine Empire DBQ document packets
  • Reminder: Ancient Rome/Byzantine Empire test on TUESDAY
    • Countries for the map portion of the test: Georgia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia
Homework: Study for the test on Tuesday.  Enjoy the three day weekend!

  • Pick up a new Byzantine Empire DBQ document packet
    • Complete packet in new groups.
  • Sub Recap
  • Ancient Rome/Byzantine Empire test on TUESDAY
    • Countries for the map portion of the test: Georgia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia
Homework: Complete both the Fall of Rome and the Byzantine Empire document packets for document review tomorrow.

Spring Semester Calendar
Today in class:
  • Fall of Rome document packet (Docs C, D, E, & F)
    • In your group of four, finish any documents that were not presented on Friday.  Review document analysis steps:
    • First, read the questions.
    • Second, identify the author/source, time period, and subject of the document.
    • Third, read the document. Circle unfamiliar words or terms. Look them up and take margin notes. Underline information that might help you answer one of the questions you read earlier.
    • Fourth, answer the questions! Highlight where in the document you found your answer. Yes, you should use complete sentences! 
Homework: Continue working on  Ch. 9.1 Homework (posted in Google Classroom) DUE Wednesday 2/7.

    • In your group of four, read and annotate your document and answer the questions that follow.
    • Listen to other groups present their document and annotate and answer questions along with them.
  • Review document analysis steps:
